In the tutorials we explain how to use certain WordPress plugins or scripts to help automated some of the maintenance tasks and processes.

No. We provide a comprehensive downloadable PDF guide (WordPress Maintenance Guide) containing printable step-by-step screenshot tutorials, as well as accompanying video tutorials. This guide can be purchased separately from WPBusinessGuides.com, but we include it at no additional cost for members of WPMaintenanceTutorials.com.

We personally recorded most of the training videos, then uploaded them to YouTube and restricted their availability so that only members can access the videos. This was simply a choice to save on bandwidth costs. The videos we personally recorded are not made available to the public.

In one of the tutorials we recommend setting up an account with a highly reliable cloud hosting service provider for storing data backups. We could have chosen to upload all of the videos to our account and that would still be very cheap to run, but YouTube provides video hosting at no cost, so using YouTube to host the videos is purely a cost-saving decision.

There are no "secret techniques" to keeping a WordPress site maintained, but people can waste a lot of time searching for information on how to set up and perform proper WordPress maintenance and still leave holes exposed. As we state in our home page, the goal of WPMaintenanceTutorials.com is to provide WordPress users with instructions on how to set up an effective and comprehensive site maintenance system that will ensure their site is regularly up-to-date, fully backed up and protected from malicious users. Our goal, therefore, when creating this site, was to provide the information in a logical and organized manner, and in a sequence that saves time and makes sense to members.

Although most of the videos are personally recorded by us, We do use some publicly available videos created by others in some of the tutorials where we felt that the video did a great job of showing what had to be done for a particular aspect of the WordPress maintenance process. Some of these videos are "placeholders" as we are still growing the site and these will be replaced with better videos in time, but for some videos there would be no point trying to reinvent the wheel.

For example, in Module 4 we show members how to install a very useful application that allows people to transfer files from their computers to their servers via their internet browser.  We found a publicly available video on YouTube that does a fantastic job of explaining how to install and use this application. Many people wouldn't know to search for this tool, and it's not really part of WordPress, so we felt that using this video instead of recording our own is fine and appropriate for that particular section of the training. If we had felt that something important was missing from the information provided in the video, we would consider either adding additional notes or tutorials to that section, or creating a new video with the information included. As we have stated, the goal of this site is to help you learn an effective system for keeping your WordPress site maintained that works in the most time-efficient manner possible, not to reinvent what's already out there.

Having said this, honest feedback from members is very valuable to us. If, after joining, you feel that any of the videos or the tutorials are not helping you get a clear understanding of the steps required to help you maintain your WordPress site effectively, then by all means please let us know and we will look at ways to improve things.
